About Melissa Rizer
3rd Grade Teacher
Melissa first joined the CCS community in the 1980s, when she attended 7th grade. She graduated from Cornerstone Christian School in the 1990s. Melissa met her husband at Cornerstone. They have been married for 15 years and have four wonderful children, who also attend Cornerstone. She and her family is active members of Camarillo Christian Church.
Melissa began working at Cornerstone in the after school program while she was still in high school. At that time she was going to school to become a nurse. However, while she was working EDC one day, she was asked to assist a teacher. When she was in the classroom, she felt God’s calling to be a teacher! One of the students had an “aha” moment and she was thrilled to be a part of it. On that day she switched her major to liberal arts. Melissa graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts and went on to get her teaching credential from CSUN.
Melissa loves teaching and being apart of this school. God is the center of her life. She has seen the many wonders He has done for her and those around her. She believes that “all things are possible through Jesus who strengthens me.”
Melissa's philosophy of education is that all students can succeed in an atmosphere of support and encouragement. That is what she will strive to provide for her students.
