Purpose
To function as an integral part of our students’ daily educational environment, thereby encouraging integrity, equity and accountability through spiritual and social development, academic achievement, decision-making skills, and overall school success as we prepare our students for post-secondary success and to impact this world for Jesus Christ.
Department Bible Verse
Based on our philosophy of education that we equip students to recognize that everything has an ultimate relationship to God, I have adapted the following scripture as our department’s core belief.“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
(Jeremiah 29:11-13)
Our Commitment
The Guidance/College Counseling Dept at CCS is committed to …
-
Partnering with parents, faculty, and administration to facilitate God’s mandate of helping our students discover and recognize their gifts, talents, strengths and weaknesses, while fulfilling their academic requirements for high school graduation as they mature into the men and women God has created and called them to become.
-
Encouraging students to have an attitude of excellence, not perfection, but excellence in conformance with Colossians 3:23… because anything worth doing is worth giving one’s best as working for the LORD, not for the approval of anyone else.
-
Exhorting students to reach their God-given potential by holding them accountable to set goals to fulfill their graduation requirements on schedule.
