This summer enjoy the wonders of books!

Summer time is when we want to relax and enjoy our days. What a great opportunity to sit under a tree or snuggle in a chair and read a book. Today I was reading the research on reading out loud to children and the benefits for their intellectual development.  During the school year each teacher daily writes homework to read 20 minutes per night. It makes me wonder if parents are aware that this time can be shared with read aloud. Nothing can compete with snuggling together to read a book together and have a conversation. This simple act develops language, comprehension and opens the door to the world of literacy.  Take advantage of the next month bonding as you read together.

A Year for Respect

CCS is a buzz of activity with the closure of the Summer Programs and preparing for the new school year!

What a pleasure it is to welcome in a new school year at CCS where children always come first, and where our campus provides a safe and welcoming family atmosphere that values the contributions of each member. We have been busy making plans for a very successful school year. Did you know that teachers are continually thinking of what new and exciting activities they can bring into the new school year throughout the summer even when they are on vacation? I am so proud of our dedicated staff who love their job.

Each year we select a theme or a character quality as a focus throughout the school year. This year we will focus on Respect.  Respect for God; self; parents; teachers; peers; government and the list goes on… Our goal is that each child will know that they are honored and respected by each member of our community. One of the first activities the K-8 will be able to demonstrate respect is Field Day when the school is divided up into teams that rotate from station to station working together as a team. A day filled with fun.

Welcome to Cornerstone Christian Schools, the Home of the Eagles.  We are here to create an environment where children can learn, play, be successful and feel safe.  Each child at Cornerstone is special and important to us.  The teachers and staff members are here to support our families and encourage each student to have a successful school year.

Parents, please be involved in your child's education and keep regular communication with your child's teacher.  It is important to listen to your child and be steady and consistent with on-time attendance.  We also encourage you to volunteer in the classroom or with our team of parents who organize and help with fundraising activities.

My primary goals are the education and safety of our children.  Children come first!  I encourage constructive suggestions and appreciate comments for the betterment of all.  Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.  My door is always open.

May God richly bless!!

In Christ,
